Covid-19 Guide & FAQ’s for Guests

Bovisand Lodge Holiday Park – COVID-19 Guest Procedures

Things are a little different around here, this post contains general information, guidance and new procedures that both Bovisand and you as our guests need to undertake. There’s lots to digest, we hope it answers any queries, if not please get in touch.

Holiday Guests:
The safety of our guests, owners, staff and their families is of the utmost importance to us. We have carefully reviewed our procedures and implemented measures to ensure we are meeting compliance and hygiene criteria, ensuring you enjoy your stay whilst being kept as safe as possible.*

We respectfully ask that you to maintain social distancing inside and outside the Park, helping us to conserve important relationships with the local community and businesses.

This post outlines the main changes to the Park and your stay, please take the time to read through and make a note of anything of importance before your arrival.

Thank you in advance for your co-operation in working with us – we know your stay with us will be a little different to usual and we want to make sure it’s still perfect!

Well being before and during your stay:
First and foremost we would ask you NOT to travel to the Park if you, or anyone in your household, has displayed COVID-19 symptoms in the lead up to your arrival date. The symptoms can be found at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/ . The same applies if you have been contacted by the NHS track and trace team as being in contact with someone who has tested Covid-19 positive. If this occurs we will transfer your booking to a later date, free of charge.
Any guests displaying Covid-19 symptoms must let us know immediately and may be asked to leave the Park.
It is recommended that you download the government approved track and tracing app to ensure everyone at Bovisand is alerted if anyone should pose a risk of spreading Covid-19.
We have placed signs that highlight current guidance on protecting guests and staff outside the Lodge (White House) and throughout the Park. Hand sanitising stations have been installed where needed. We politely ask you to follow Covid-19 guidance and stay alert, maintain social distancing, wash your hands regularly and use hand sanitiser.

  • Our Covid-19 certificate of compliance can be found in the Lodge (White House).

Revised Check In and Out Times:

To allow for more time to clean and sanitise your accommodation, check in will be a bit later than usual at 4.00pm.
Check out is no later than 9.30am and we ask that you leave punctually to allow our cleaning team the additional time they need to fulfil the new procedures.

Check In and Out Procedures:

Please contact us on 01752 403554 half an hour before you arrive to ensure we will be on hand to assist you with the new arrival and check-in process.
Pull up in front of the Lodge (big white house) and ring on the doorbell or call us from your car. We will welcome you and show you to your accommodation (at a socially maintained distance) using a spare or master key. You will be given a sanitised key of your own. We will stay outside your accommodation to answer any initial queries that you may have.
There are a few changes to the check out process. In order to ensure the safety of both our staff and the next guests we need you to:
1) Strip all your beds and seal in the yellow bags provided, even unused linen! You can leave pillowcase protectors and mattress protectors on.
2) Empty all the bins in the accommodations and tie off the bag, then place these bags in the recycling and general waste bins located around the Park. Please bag any tissues before putting in the bins!
3) If there is a dishwasher in your accommodation, please load with as much crockery and cutlery as you can and turn it on after breakfast.
4) Weather permitting, please leave all windows open or on the latch
5) Leave your key in pot outside of the Lodge and contact us on 01752 403554 to notify us that you are leaving and to state that no-one is unwell or displaying covid-19 symptoms.
Cleaning Procedures:
We will be using a ULV fogging machine to apply a disinfectant mist across all surfaces including and not limited to upholstery, coat hangers, light switches, remote controls and table tops. We will also carry out our own stringent cleaning procedure, including the washing of all cutlery and crockery and using the appropriate products.

Removal of non-essential items:

You may notice that some difficult to clean and high touch items will have been removed from your accommodation, this may include cushions and throws. If you require anything that we have removed or have any questions please call us and we will be happy to help.

Welcome Folders:

Instead of finding a folder containing useful visitor information and information on attractions in your accommodation, you will have received a pdf via email. We also have a copy in a blue folder at the Lodge (big white house)

Visitors:

We ask that you do not invite any visitors (including family) into the Park grounds or into your accommodation. This is following government guidance aimed at keeping the chances of spreading infection to a minimum. We know that this is not what you would like to hear and thank you for supporting us in this matter during this time.

Provisions:

Most of our local shops restaurants and cafes are open for takeaways. While we want and the economy needs you to support them, it also might be useful to plan ahead by using internet grocery delivery to avoid queues.

Our Facilities:

We are pleased to be able to announce that the New for 2020 Children’s Play Area is open. Children under 12 years must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult at all times to ensure they don’t inadvertently break social distancing rules and that good hygiene routines are followed by using the hand sanitiser station by the play park entrance.
The swimming pool and sauna are currently closed by Law. As soon as the pool is allowed to reopen we will do so, following government guidance.
The woodland walk is currently closed. As soon as safety procedures are in place we will open it.
There’s still plenty on offer, the public beach is open and there should be plenty of room particularly at low tide for everyone to enjoy the rock pools, sandcastles and swims whilst keeping their distance.
Don’t forget the South West Coast Path is on our doorstep allowing you to explore the area while enjoying fresh air and breathtaking views of Devon and Cornwall.
Our grounds are open so you can play football, badminton, table tennis, rounders or even fly a kite! Just make sure that you bring your equipment with you not forgetting your DVD’s in case the weather turns!
The launderette is open and restricted to 1 person at a time. Please knock and ensure there is no one in the Launderette before entering. Please use hand sanitiser and anti-bacterial wipes to wipe down surfaces before and after using the machines.

Attractions:

All weather attractions are starting to open up again. We recommend that you check websites before visiting. Many places, including National Trust, The National Marine Aquarium and Dartmoor Zoo are operating a pre-book system. If you can book in advance it will guarantee your entry.

We will be in contact again a week before your arrival date to keep you informed on any changes or additional info. Until then, thank you for your patience and support, it means the world to us. We are really looking forward to welcoming you to Boviand Lodge Holiday Park soon!

Best Wishes, Rita, John, Candice & James
